MX Architecture Guidelines
  • Lowest priority number indicates the primary receiving mail server (e.g. Priority 10 receives traffic before Priority 20).
  • Always point MX records directly to fully qualified domain names (FQDN) with valid A records—never point an MX record to a CNAME.

How It Works in 3 Simple Steps

01

Enter domain

Input the domain name to inspect MX records.

02

Query Mail Servers

Resolve all active MX records sorted by priority rank.

03

Identify Provider

Detect whether the domain uses Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, or custom mail infrastructure.

Pro Tips for Maximum Performance
  • Ensure MX records point directly to your primary mail provider (e.g. aspmx.l.google.com).
  • Never point MX records to a CNAME alias.
